Do We Ditch That Sugar Cube For Honey?

Many of us have strong sugar cravings and we dismiss any theory that doesn't really support sugar, let's find out more about sugar.
Is There Any Safe Amount of Sugar?

In my opinion, there is no safe amount of processed or refined sugar. Naturally contained sugars in fruit and vegetables are balanced by the fiber, vitamins, enzymes and other properties of the fruit/vegetable which slow sugar digestion and help the body deal with it more easily. Processed varieties, on the other hand, provide none of these benefits and instead create these harmful effects of sugar in the body:

(1)Stresses the Liver: “When we eat fructose, it goes to the liver. If liver glycogen is low, such as after a run, the fructose will be used to replenish it.However, most people aren’t consuming fructose after a long workout and their livers are already full of glycogen. When this happens, the liver turns the fructose into fat . Some of the fat gets shipped out, but part of it remains in the liver. The fat can build up over time and ultimately lead to Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
(2)   Increases Bad Cholesterol and Triglycerides
Can contribute to Leptin Resistance (and then weight gain, cravings, sleep trouble, etc) – s
(3)Creates an addictive sugar response in the brain
Doesn’t fill you up and instead encourages you to eat more

Practically Speaking…

I realize that in today’s world, it can be tough to completely avoid sugar since it is so readily available. Unfortunately, the widespread availability doesn’t reduce the effects of sugar…

Especially for kids who are still developing their nutritional foundation, metabolism, and hormones, even a little sugar can be harmful. As hard as it can be sometimes, we try to stick to whole, real foods as much as possible and avoid any processed foods (especially those containing grains and sugars

Honey
Many people like honey but don't use it.In my opinion, we have been brainwashed to adore candies and all sugary stuff.

.“My son, eat thou honey, for it is good” — King Solomon – Proverbs: 24:13

Health Benefits:

1. Prevent cancer and heart disease:
Honey contains flavonoids, antioxidants which help reduce the risk of some cancers and heart disease.

2. Reduce ulcers and other gastrointestinal disorders.
Recent research shows that honey treatment may help disorders such as ulcers and bacterial gastroenteritis. This may be related to the 3rd benefit…

3. Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-fungal:
“All honey is antibacterial, because the bees add an enzyme that makes hydrogen peroxide,” said Peter Molan, director of the Honey Research Unit at the University of Waikato in New Zealand.

4. Increase athletic performance.
Ancient Olympic athletes would eat honey and dried figs to enhance their performance. This has now been verified with modern studies, showing that it is superior in maintaining glycogen levels and improving recovery time than other sweeteners.

5. Reduce cough and throat irritation:
Honey helps with coughs, particularly buckwheat honey. In a study of 110 children, a single dose of buckwheat honey was just as effective as a single dose of dextromethorphan in relieving nocturnal cough and allowing proper sleep.

6. Balance the 5 elements

CONCLUSION
It is so obvious that honey is nutritional lay better than the old sugar!I really love honey and
I think it tastes a lot better.Did you know sugar was not eaten until after a while prior to the time when it was found-they thought it was a hard drug because of its addictive effects!
It is not easy to undo all your 'sugarfull' years, I know, but there is no harm and a lot of great benefits in trying.I OPT FOR A SUGAR-FREE WORLD

  1. Nice post... but before we can totally condemn sugar let's talk about d accessibility of honey and d cost....
especially for children that needs sweet things what do we expect the mother to do who cannot afford honey...
let's look at it from dis perspective before we conclude...
